BioSkin PVT™ (True Pivot) Ankle Brace
Natural Movement, Scientifically Engineered
The BioSkin PVT L1906 is the first ankle brace to support the ankle's true anatomical pivot point, allowing for stabilized motion that mirrors the body's natural biomechanics. Its innovative, modular design provides maximum support post-injury, with the unique ability to "step down" to a lighter, lace-free L1902 support as the patient progresses through their healing journey.
What Makes the PVT™ Different?
Scientifically Engineered 'True Pivot' Hinge Unlike other braces that place the hinge directly over the ankle bones (malleoli), the PVT's hinge is located at the ankle's true axis point, approximately one inch lower. This anatomical placement allows for natural, stabilized motion, eliminating the unnatural joint gapping and pressure points caused by misaligned hinges.
Modular Design for 'Step-Down' Therapy The PVT's hinges are fully removable, allowing for versatile, multi-phase treatment with a single brace.
-
L1906 Support: With the hinges inserted, the PVT provides maximum medial and lateral stability for acute injuries or post-operative use.
-
L1902 Support: By removing the hinges, the brace "steps down" to a lace-free L1902, offering flexible support and compression for the sub-acute or recovery phase.
Heat-Moldable for a Custom Fit The rigid hinge can be easily removed and heat-molded by the clinician to perfectly match the patient's anatomy, ensuring a custom fit, eliminating "hot spots," and maximizing comfort and compliance.
No Laces, Teno Suspension Support The PVT uses our proprietary Teno Suspension Technology instead of laces. This system mimics the natural biomechanics of the foot, suspending the arch and tendons to deliver consistent stability and customized support with faster donning and better results. Despite its hinged support, the low-profile design fits comfortably inside most shoes.
Indications

Peroneal Tendon Issues (requiring hinged support)
-
Posterior Tibial Tendon Disorder (PTTD)
-
Plantar Fasciitis (with Adjustable Varus/Valgus Control)
Fitting Instructions (Simple and Versatile)
-
Slip on the base sleeve. The hinges are pre-inserted in their pockets.
-
(Optional) For a custom fit, remove the hinges, heat-mold, and re-insert.
